Kate LeBlanc joins Benchmark Strategies as a Media Relations and Content Specialist
September 13, 2023 – BOSTON – Benchmark Strategies, a leading public affairs firm, announced today that Kate LeBlanc has joined the firm’s growing public relations practice as a Media Relations and Content Specialist. LeBlanc brings a wide variety of experience in journalism, public relations and public policy to her role at Benchmark. As a Media Relations and Content Specialist, she will be responsible for conducting media outreach, creating press releases and media materials, and undertaking client and market-based research projects.
LeBlanc comes to the Benchmark team after a year in Washington, D.C., working as a Civic Fellow at the Close Up Foundation, a non-profit dedicated to civic education. Prior to her time in D.C., LeBlanc worked for her alma mater, the University of Rhode Island, on the External Relations and Communications team and was a Communications Fellow on the Fair Share for MA campaign. She also spent many years as a freelance journalist, where she was published in outlets such as The Boston Globe and the Warwick Beacon.
LeBlanc graduated from URI with degrees in journalism and political science. As a student, she received multiple university awards for work in her majors, such as the Edgar Leduc Award for Public Service and the journalism department’s Wilbur Doctor Endowment. She is originally from the Worcester area and currently resides in Cambridge.
