BOSTON – August 6, 2024 – Benchmark Strategies, Boston’s leading public affairs and public relations firm, announced today that Brian O’Connor has joined the team as Assistant Vice President of Public Affairs.

Brian will lend his experience in public policy and business advocacy to Benchmark’s efforts in leading impactful government affairs and public sector business development strategies. He will help Benchmark’s client engagements with the Massachusetts Legislature, the Executive Branch, and cities and towns across the Commonwealth.

Most recently, Brian served on the Policy and Research team at the Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce. As Senior Manager of Government Relations, he was responsible for providing expert analysis for relevant legislation and public policy proposals impacting the Chamber’s 1,200 members.

Brian previously worked as a Policy Analyst for Minority Leader Brad Jones in the Massachusetts House of Representatives. In this role, he tackled priority issues relative to Housing, Transportation, Financial Services, Election Laws, Capital Expenses, and Redistricting.
